Common symptoms and solutions for hose assembly failures:

• Expired service life
• Improper hose insertion depth
• Fitting crimp diameter not within required dimensions
• Insertion tube damaged during assembly (field attachable fittings)
• Hose twisted (application routing)
• Hose abrasion

• Hose minimum bend radius exceeded
• Fluid incompatibility
• Hose is kinked or crushed
• Dry air aged
• Excessively high/cold temperatures
• Excessive pressures
• Improper use

HOSE ABRASION

SYMPTOM: Cover is torn and/or deteriorated. Reinforcement wires show signs of being rubbed and possibly torn and corroded.

CAUSE: Excessive rubbing or chafing of hose against an external object, possibly other hoses or the wrong size clamp. Impact of hose on sharp corners or brackets.

SOLUTION: Replace hose assembly. Use a protective sleeve or hose guards. Re-route hose assembly and if required use proper sized clamps to avoid contact of other objects.
