Common symptoms and solutions for hose assembly failures:

• Expired service life
• Improper hose insertion depth
• Fitting crimp diameter not within required dimensions
• Insertion tube damaged during assembly (field attachable fittings)
• Hose twisted (application routing)
• Hose abrasion

• Hose minimum bend radius exceeded
• Fluid incompatibility
• Hose is kinked or crushed
• Dry air aged
• Excessively high/cold temperatures
• Excessive pressures
• Improper use

AIR AGED

SYMPTOM: Inner tube contains numerous fine longitudinal cracks. The hose remains flexible. No cracks are found in the hose under the fittings.

CAUSE: Hose used in a dry air application that incorporates a desiccant drying system. May be due to refrigerated air drying systems use.

SOLUTION: Replace hose assembly with one that is rated for extreme dry air such as EPDM.
